GardenScape offers a variety of events to complement and aid in the enjoyment of its displays. There is

always a lot to see and do. You could watch an expert tend a bonsai specimen, or see a master builder construct a natural stone wall.
Preview Reception - "A Taste of Spring"
Get a taste of Spring before the arrival of the new season.
The Preview Reception on Wednesday evening allows you to view the show before it opens to the public. Walk though the gardens, listen to live music, sip a drink and enjoy hors d'oeuvers between 5:30 and 8 pm, with the proceeds benefiting the Epilepsy Foundation of Rochester, Syracuse and Binghamton.
As the "charity of choice" of the GardenScape Professionals, the Epilepsy Foundation works to remove the stigma of epilepsy and help people with epilepsy and related disabilities reach their potential.

It is a fun, casual evening with great live rock n roll amid warm, sweet smelling, visually stunning gardens. As they twist and shout, visitors are transported to a wild, lavish springtime party in the backyard or an inexpensive vacation from the dreary Rochester winter without the hassle of baggage, immigration and security! Admire the gardens in bloom as only Rochester's premier landscapers can design them! One night only - dance the night away at Rochester's most exclusive winter party getaway, Sock Hop Into Spring at GardenScape!
Held after show hours on Friday, Sock Hop into Spring provides guests a chance to enjoy music, dancing, beer and wine amid the gardens. Sock Hop into Spring tickets are purchased separately but allow guests to arrive early to view exhibits and visit vendors during show hours, before the party in the gardens begins at 8:30pm.

Early Bird Breakfast Tour
Our Early Bird Breakfast Tours on Friday or Saturday mornings are
a great chance to leisurely view the exhibits outside of the public show hours.
The program runs from 7a.m. until 9a.m., and you'll start your morning at the show with a casual, hot breakfast catered by the event sponsor, D & R Depot Restaurant of LeRoy. You can eat among the landscaped displays, then stroll through the show.

Alien Nature - 2010 Feature

One of the GardenScape traditions is the Children's Garden,
a place for our younger show goers to have fun, explore, and learn about our green world.Each year's show has its own setting and activities for the children, but the experience is always informal, a bit creative, certainly "hands-on" - and always fun.

Through the Eyes of a Child

Enter the magical world of childhood at this year's Children's Garden. Magic and Enchantment surround you as you view the garden as only a child's imagination could landscape it.Overhead cameras will be in place to help you see yourself as part of the whimsical garden. Kids can pot up a plant start their own magical garden at home! Live magic shows each day.
Among the activities for past Children's Gardens:
- Face painting
- Painting flower pots then planting marigolds to take home
- Making a balloon terrarium to take home and watch it grow
As always, adults are invited to join in on the fun!

New to GardenScape is the Design Challenge, a live event putting some of our top landscape designers to the task, solving problems while you watch. For each of the Design Challenge segments, four professional landscape designers will be seated at drawing boards. An announcer will describe to them, and to the audience, specific design opportunities or challenges.
